NCEA Catholic Schools Week

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2020 is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” 

Sunday, January 26th :  

All Notre Dame Students and Families are encouraged to Pack the Pews and wear their uniforms to Mass on Saturday or Sunday.  Our clergy and parishioners generously support Catholic Education, make sure to thank them to kick off Catholic Schools Week!

Monday, January 27th :

Notre Dame Elementary: We are celebrating our community, by supporting our local hospitals and donating a NEW, CLEAN Teddy Bear to be given to children that are in the hospital. They are in need of all sizes. 

Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School:  Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School will begin the week by devoting a Mass to Catholic education! Families are welcome to join us in prayer at Our Lady of the Rosary, 9 am.

Tuesday, January 28th :

Notre Dame Elementary: Celebrate our students by allowing them to dress like a “twin” or a favorite character from a book, or movie. 

Wednesday, January 29th :

Notre Dame Elementary: In our Nation Day, Pre-K & Montessori classes will wear a blue shirt, Kindergarten through 2nd grade will wear red shirts and 3rd through 6th grade will wear white shirts. All students are allowed to add red, white and blue to their uniform; bows, pins, socks etc. 

Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School: Our Jr/Sr High School students will be celebrating faith and community.  All grade levels will be participating in service projects. Stay tuned to see what impact they will be making.

Thursday, January 30th :

Notre Dame Elementary:  Students will wear Blue & Gold to represent Notre Dame Elementary School pride. The 5th and 6th-grade basketball players may wear their uniforms to school. Pre – K through 4th Grade will be having a yoga class! Miss Johnson & Miss Testa will be going on a mission trip, this summer, to establish a school for an orphanage in the Dominican Republican. Donations can be made throughout the week.

Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School:  For Vocation Day, area clergy members are invited for a tour and a luncheon to see Notre Dame in action.

Friday, January 31st :  

Notre Dame Elementary: We will celebrate the Special People in our lives, Grandparents, Godparents, friends, teachers at our Grandparents Day Mass. The book fair also begins this day in our library. 

Notre Dame Jr/Sr High School:  Faculty will be celebrated at a special evening event.
