Szopki Festival

View our submissions to our Fifth Annual Szopki Festival.

Szopka, pronounced shup-kah, is the Polish word for crib, but in the 19th century, it came to mean a nativity scene housed in a "fanciful, miniature creation of historic buildings in the city of Krakow," according to organizers from the Kopernik Memorial Association.

The craftspeople of Krakow started making szopki as a way to make extra money during the winter months.

Pandemic Art Show

During remote learning, our art teacher, Ms. Denise Tan, had her students create pieces that represented their feelings about the pandemic.  Since “the show must go on,” please enjoy our presentation of “Art-demic.”
