Clubs and activities are a great way for students to discover new passions and experience what it means to lead. There are many clubs, open to all grades. It just goes to show that there’s never a dull moment at Notre Dame!

Art Club

Meets every Wednesday from 2:35 to 4:15 p.m in room 217

All interested students in grades 7-12 are welcome to attend.  The Art Club time can be used as free studio time to work on a project of the student's choice, or the student may follow the group project that is led by the art teacher.  There are several community service projects that Art Club participates in, through which students can add to their required Notre Dame community service hours, such as ornament-making for charities; painting cafeteria and library windows for the holidays, painting schoolwide murals; creating and painting props and sets for the Christmas and Spring Concerts, and the annual musical. No prior experience in art is needed-just a desire to be creative and productive!

Creative Writing Club

Meets every Wednesday from 2:45-3:15 pm in Room 113

Creative writing club is open to grades 7-12. Each meeting, students are encouraged to let their creativity flow via various writing exercises and group activities. Throughout the course of the year, students will experiment with fiction and poetry, all while helping each other create in a fun and relaxed environment. Students are also welcome to bring in writing projects for feedback during our periodic workshopping sessions. At the end of the year, students will bring their work together in a publication that will be circulated throughout the school.

Eco-Schools Club

Eco-Schools is a growing phenomenon, which encourages young people to engage in their environment by allowing them the opportunity to actively protect it.  Through this program, students experience a sense of achievement at being able to have a say in the environmental management policy of the school, with the ultimate goal of being awarded the International Green Flag, a certification and prestige awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

French Club

Meets on the First Tuesday of the month

French Club is a cultural club welcoming all students at ND whether they are students currently enrolled in French classes or not. We explore aspects of French culture as well as that of other Francophone places in the world.  The club seeks to create hands-on opportunities to make language and cultural connections through hands-on creative opportunities. Past club meetings include a cheese tasting and visit by a cheesemaker, Eiffel tower model construction contest and a movie day. The club is moderated by Mme. Gazitano-Carro French teacher at Notre Dame Jr/Sr High.
